Specialty Hybrids’ agronomy department, Green Light, is a unique and innovative approach to customer support. The mission is to help farmers gain the maximum knowledge from Specialty products by providing performance information unmatched in the industry.

The centerpiece of Green Light is an extensive network of corn research sites saturating our regional marketing area. Green Light conducts multiple testing sites scattered throughout Indiana and multiple locations in Eastern Ohio. Each site has replicated mini-strips containing 40 hybrids planted and harvested with specialized research equipment.

Competitive Testing

The competition gives us their best! Nearly half the hybrids and varieties tested are competitive offerings. Each year Green Light allows the top competitors to include their best hybrids and varieties into our field trials. This keeps the grower informed about the marketplace and proves that Specialty’s products are the best in the industry. All performance information is available to our customers through many location summaries and paired comparisons.

Generating information for the customers that is useful, accurate and timely is a Green Light goal. Green Light has implemented one of the largest individual testing programs of its type. Combining a vast network of corn ministrips, corn small plot, and multiple small soybean plots makes Green Light a valuable asset to the customer.

Specialty Products Are Proven To Perform

An important part of Green Light is small plot randomized testing containing 240 corn hybrids and 180 soybean varieties that are available in the marketplace and represent the competitor’s best. We conduct testing on 4 of these sites for corn and 6 for soybeans.

Green Light testing gives us the ability to glean a wealth of information about our hybrids that is invaluable to the grower.
