At Specialty, we know how important farming is to your family – and to your community. That’s why we’ve partnered with America’s Farmers to provide continued support to individuals and organizations across Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.
America’s Farmers is an advocacy program that recognizes, celebrates and rewards hard working rural Americans through a variety of initiatives.
- With the help of farmers, America’s Farmers Grow Communities will award another $3 million in 2017 to help support causes that make a positive impact in rural communities across America. Farmers have the opportunity to enroll for a chance to win a $2,500 donation to direct toward their favorite community nonprofit organization. Farmer enrollment for the 2018 program will begin again August 1, 2017. Learn more.
- America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, partners with farmers to award rural youth $1,500 scholarships to support their studies in ag-related fields after high school. This year, more than a half-million dollars in scholarships are available to high school seniors and college students in rural communities across the country. Grow Ag Leaders scholarships are available in a variety of fields including: farming, agronomy, education, science, technology, business, communications and more. Learn more.
- The America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program offers farmers the opportunity to nominate rural public school districts to compete for merit-based grants of either $10,000 or $25,000. Eligible farmers can nominate their school district from January 1 – April 1, 2017. Learn more.
- Recognize your mom, wife, sister, etc., for all she does for your family, farm, community and agriculture. Nominate her for Farm Mom of the Year. Five regional winners will receive $3,000 each and one grand prize winner will receive an additional $2,000. Each winner will also nominate a charity to receive a $2,000 grant donation. Find out if your mom is eligible.
We hope you’ll join us in supporting families and communities in our region through one – or all – of these initiatives.
